Candle, 'Salak Nok'
An elegant peacock poses on flowery branches rendering this candle truly captivating. Wisanu Kokettikul draws inspiration from the mural of an old temple in northern Thailand, the peacocks grace capturing Kokettikuls heart. Koogs (as the artisan prefers to be called) artistic vision began to delve into the realm of candle making upon his wifes suggestion who now works with him and, together with a group of artisans, they pride themselves in the creation of unique designs inspired by Thailands exotic flora and wondrous cultural heritage. Infused in ancestral allure, this candle will enhance any ambience. Working closely with his wife and team, Koog designs the candles prior to their making. Once the wax is prepared and tinted, it is poured into molds of desired shape and left to set. Koog then proceeds to engrave the candles with motifs of his own inspiration, sometimes adding gold foil accents to ensure the uniqueness of each piece. Devoted to his new found craft, Koog comments: You know, if you love to do something and it becomes your work, you will have more and more courage to do it again and again. The name of this candle, Salak Nok means Engraved Birds in English.
